Active Recovery Day
Today was my active recovery day. What does that mean? It's technically my rest day but instead of not doing anything at all I chose to do a 30 minute light yoga session. That was my "active" recovery. I did the 21 Day Fix Yoga Fix. And I really needed it. My body was very tight and each move felt like it was needed and thankfully by the end I started to feel my body really loosening up.
So sometimes instead of not doing anything at all you should choose to have an "active" recovery day. It doesn't have to be yoga. It could be taking a walk and enjoying the weather. It could be you doing your own series of stretches. You could even just take the time to use the foam roller and work those knots out. Just remember to still drink plenty of water and refresh your body.
